Job Advert Location Description

The Dene Hospital supports both male and female patients with varying needs in its Medium Secure, Low Secure, HDU and Acute Wards.

The Dene is set in 11 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside, it has educational, occupational and sporting facilities, including a sports hall, tennis court and gymnasium, along with various communal recreation areas. There is a library, art room and rehab practice kitchen. The site also facilitates and runs recovery college courses.

Job Advert Role Description

As a Nurse Practitioner at The Dene you will be working within a team that includes a range of professionals making an effective contribution to providing high quality care to our patients.

You will be supported to work within an identified career development pathway and will be supported with Peer Review, Clinical Supervision, Mentorship and Appraisal.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of delivering and working in partnership with MDT’s and the contracted Primary Care Service on the management of physical health care in particular: health promotion, self harm management and chronic disease management including giving advice for day-to-day care planning for the in-patients at The Dene Hospital.

The post holder will provide a high quality source of advice and expertise in relation to self-harm, medical issues and the promotion and teaching of good health.  

This is a developed role and therefore has scope for innovation and development.

Our Nurse Practitioner role involves:

To be successful in this role you will need to be committed to Personal Learning and Development, Evidence and Values Based Practice and Patient Centred Care. You will need to have excellent team working skills and be highly self-motivated with a flexible approach.
