Job Advert Location Description

Priory College Swindon, is a specialist college for young people aged 16-25 years with Aspergers Syndrome(AS) & associated disorders.  Our students are supported as they prepare for living and working in the main stream environment.

Job Advert Role Description

Situated in the Old Town area of Swindon our college caters for young people from the age of 16 who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum and with associated co-morbid conditions. Some of our students may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.

By providing a safe and caring environment our students learn to develop the skills and strategies that help them make progress and succeed in their education.  In addition you will support our students to develop social and independence skills so that they are able to enjoy their lives and make real life choices.

To succeed we need people who share our passion for making a real difference.  You will be dedicated, committed and ideally you have an understanding of and previous experience of autism although you will get training when you join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare and expect all staff to share this commitment.

  • Could you make a difference to the young people we support?
  • Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging job?
  • Are you a self-starter, do you have initiative and able to work as part of a team?

What we’d like from you:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Great team player
  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • Strong “can do” attitude
