This position is open to male applicants only as the individual will be required to provide personal care needs of the service users. We are an equal opportunities employer and believe that this is a general occupational requirement within the meaning of the Equality Act 2010.

Priory Adult Care

Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.

With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge.  We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

One of our latest Priory Adult Care locations: Supporting You in The South, provides support to individuals living in their own tenancies and outreach support to vulnerable adults in the community.  We are now looking to open our second supported living service in Woking and we are looking for exceptional team members, to support the two adults who live there.

The Support Worker Role

Your main goal is to support individuals to achieve what is important to them and their quality of life.  You will play a key role in: building confidence and self-esteem, encouraging daily living skills, managing household duties, administering medication and having fun.  The role also requires support workers to assist service users with personal hygiene and to support them with the self-management of challenging behaviour.

We are looking for staff who are flexible, patient, able to listen, have a great sense of humour and passionate about person centred support.  Experienced and inexperienced support workers are equally welcome as full training and continuing professional development are provided.

Successful applicants will work as part of a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties (where required).

The service is in the St Johns area of Woking, close to local bus routes and easy distance of Woking train station, the M3 and M25.  Initial training may be provided at other local services.

Why should you apply?

  • Salary of £8 - £9.25 per hour, dependent on experience
  • Permanent full-time or part-time work available
  • Great employee benefit scheme
  • Comprehensive training programme
  • Excellent career development opportunities
