Job Advert Location Description

Set within landscaped gardens, the safe and supportive environment of the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a comprehensive inpatient specialist mental health service for young people and adults. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community.

Job Advert Role Description

Experience:

Essential -

  • Minimum three years experience of working with families using Family Systemic (this can be as a systemic practitioner) approaches; in Child Mental health settings or equivalent.
  • A team player with a proven ability to function within a multi-disciplinary setting and work closely with other professional colleagues

Desirable -

  • Experience of working in an inpatient environment
  • Experience of working with patients with severe mental health problems, such as psychotic illness, severe mood /anxiety disorders, severe self harm.
  •  Experience of working with a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Post-graduate qualification in relevant mental health/social welfare profession
  • Completion of Masters/diploma level qualification in Family Therapy/ Systemic & Family Psychotherapy or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation & ethical issues. Ability to work with families from culturally diverse communities in different contexts.
  • Skills in communicating effectively, orally and in writing. .
  • Eligibility for UKCP registration.

Desirable:

  • A commitment to evaluation and ability to develop appropriate clinical outcome measures.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision of other Professionals who are delivering a Systemic Family Therapy assessment and package of care.
  • Ability to teach and train others
  • Sufficient knowledge of other modalities to engage appropriately with colleagues and their work with clients.
  • Basic IT skills.

Personality Characteristics:

  • Ability to work autonomously, setting appropriate goals in accordance with professional ethics guidelines and the Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital policies.

Other :

Essential -

  • Prepared to work some evening/weekend sessions.

Desirable -

  • Able to drive
