The Priory Hospital Woodbourne is an independent hospital, specialising in the management and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions. The hospital has established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

We provide expert treatment for the following services:

  • Eating disorders
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

The Aspen Unit is The Priory Hospital Woodbourne's psychiatric intensive care unit which provides a fast turnaround service where the focus is supporting young adult males aged 16-25, to improve their coping skills in the short term.

Woodbourne has a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which include consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists. They can treat a wide range of acute mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic-stress-disorder, obsessive compulsive states, schizophrenia and all other major acute psychiatric illnesses.

Job Advert Role Description

The Woodbourne Priory Hospital is currently seeking to recruit the following Speciality Doctors:

1 x Private ward and Eating Disorder Unit – 37.5 hrs per week Mon – Fri; no on call commitment.

Training opportunities and study days will also be provided.

Our Private ward cares for the Working Age population, who have severe and critical needs.  Our aim is to work quickly to assess their needs and give them the care they need to enable them to go back into the community. We work closely with families and funders faciulitate recovery and safe discharge.

Our Eating Disorder Unit  offers specialist therapy programmes which work in conjunction with the individual to tailor care plans for each of our patients.

The successful candidate will possess an MBBS qualification or equivalent and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).  You will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within an acute setting and as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous as this role will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team.

Benefits include annual leave entitlement of 33 days (includes 8 bank/public holidays), with additional leave for long service and a contributory pension.
