Launching our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion colleague charter
National Inclusion Week (23 – 29 September 2024) is an opportunity to reflect on and promote the importance of belonging and inclusion in the workplace.
At Priory, we believe that fostering an inclusive environment where every individual feels respected and valued is essential for personal and professional growth.
We have nine colleague networks that provide a space for peer-to-peer connection, and support those with shared lived experiences and identities. They are run by colleagues and create a safe, supportive forum to raise awareness of any issues identified by colleagues or barriers they feel are inhibiting their progress. The networks include:
- Women
- Menopause
- REACH (Race, Equality and Cultural Heritage)
- Parents
- LGBTQ+
- Men that talk
- Disability and Difference
- Neurodiversity
- Armed Forces
One of our Priory Plan goals is “to embed a culture of openness, inclusion, and trust where people feel they belong.”
To support this goal, we’ve launched our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) colleague charter, outlining our commitment to inclusivity for colleagues. Developed by our EDI network leads as part of the EDI steering committee, the charter lays the foundation for our ambitions, and the strategies we will employ to achieve them.
Our charter is an evolving document, set to develop through regular reviews of our activities and the needs of our colleagues. By working collaboratively and holding ourselves accountable, we aim to create a community where every colleague feels appreciated, valued, and empowered to thrive.
